Storm and Tempest: Jajarawong just escapes major damage before Christmas
On 22nd December, 2007 a wild storm made landfall in Central Victoria, cutting a devasting swathe of chaos and bringing with it 104mm of rain. While the rain was a welcome, long-overdue addition to the parched dams at Jajarawong, it all came so quickly that surrounding hills were denuded, with torrents of water leapfrogging roads, overwhelming retardation pits and eventually entering the house and damaging carpets. All around is a scene that speaks witness of the incredible forces of wind and rain. Nearby, a tornado snapped huge greybox and gums as if they were toothpicks. Some of the pictures of this are shown below.

New Year's Eve report
Every year is the same: intense heat, great food and drink, great company and dance 'til you drop. NYE 2007 saw everybody sit down to a sumptuous 4-course meal of vichyssoise soup, T-bone steaks and fruit jellies in port-wine sauce. Then it's clear away the timber as the music cranks up. The New Year was welcomed in with a chorus of Auld Lang Syne, led by Alistair, repleat with sparklers and streamers. Then more dancing until the early hours. Next morning, rise and shine for a cooked brunch from 9.30.
